The Greater Hazleton Area Relief & Resiliency Task Force is working to bring emergency financial relief to as many small businesses as possible through this MicroGrant Program. Grant awards to businesses will range between $500-$1,500. The size and number of awards will depend upon the amount of funds raised.

  • The first round of applications opened May 18th and closed on May 22nd, with awards announced on June 1st.
  • Due to the high number of applications received in round one, the second round of applications is being suspended until additional campaign funds are raised. More information will be forthcoming. 


ELIGIBILITY

You are eligible to apply if: 

  • Your business is a for-profit corporation, limited liability company, partnership, proprietorship or other legal entity licensed to do business and have your principal place of business located within the boundaries of the Hazleton Area School District.
  • You have been in business for at least one year (or if less than one year, your must be an established client of the Hazleton LaunchBox or CAN BE business incubator)
  • You had 20 or less full-time employees prior to March 15, 2020.​


USE OF FUNDS

Use of funds awarded may be applied to any business-related expense, such as:

employee wages and benefits (such as health insurance), rent, utilities, and/or business insurance, as well as new investments in a website, e-commerce platform, a delivery service, or necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) purchases, such as masks for employees, plexiglass screens for registers, etc. Applications will be required to state how any funds awarded will be used.


PRIVACY AND DISCLOSURE

Businesses applications to the MicroGrant Program will be kept confidential and reviewed only by members of the grant review committee. The review committee will be comprised of representatives from the Greater Hazleton Recovery & Resiliency Task Force.
