DOWNTOWN ALLIANCE RECEIVES DONATION FROM WENDY'S AND THE HAYDEN FAMILY AT GRAND REOPENING

With a revitalized décor, comfortable seating and other amenities, customers will enjoy a stunning new Wendy’s experience when they visit the remodeled restaurant at 40 South Church Street, Hazleton beginning Friday, May 23.

The restaurant was remodeled or built using an innovative interior and exterior design, which is part of a comprehensive brand transformation to reinvent the Wendy’s restaurant environment – from food innovation to building design to new packaging.

“This restaurant has bold curb appeal and features a compelling, innovative interior and exterior design,” said Marybeth Hayden.  “It’s very different from what our customers in Hazleton are used to but we think they’ll really like the fresh look and feel of the new Wendy’s.”

Wendy’s has conducted nationwide research and studied every aspect of the customer’s experience in redesigning its restaurants.  Based on this feedback, Wendy’s completely overhauled the interiors and exteriors of the building in Hazleton.  This restaurant features a contemporary design with large windows and natural materials.  The interior showcases open, bright dining areas, with multiple seating options.  The exterior has picnic tables on their new fenced in patio.

Remodeling restaurants is part of a multi-year strategy to reinvigorate the Wendy’s brand throughout North America and the way customers interact with Wendy’s. The brand strategy involves enhancing the Wendy’s menu, as evidenced by launches of several new items and limited time items, such as the Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger.

Other brand enhancements are new advertising and marketing campaigns, a revised Wendy’s logo, new crew uniforms and product packaging innovations.

“We are making great progress in all of these areas, and we think our customers will be surprised and excited about their new Wendy’s, “says Marybeth Hayden, franchisee operator.

“This is a great example of other investments that are being made in downtown Hazleton,” said Krista Schneider, who serves as Executive Director of the Downtown Hazleton Alliance for Progress. “The Hayden family is fully committed to the successful rebirth of the downtown, and we are very happy to have their support.”

As part of the grand re-opening celebration and associated ribbon cutting, the Hayden family will be presenting a check to the Downtown Hazleton Alliance for Progress for $15,256. This is part of a larger $50,000 commitment that the Hayden family has pledged to donate to the non-profit organization leading the downtown revitalization effort. Why the odd number? “There are 256 different ways to prepare a hamburger,” says Hayden.
