DOWNTOWN programs & EVENTS

Wondering what there is to do downtown? Visit the museum, take in a show, sign up for an art class, or check out one of the many exhibits hosted by the art league. During the summer months, you can enjoy watching a Movie at the Markle, listen to live music, or purchase the freshest produce in town at the Downtown Hazleton Farmer's Market. Interested in exercise? Take a guided "Y Walk" stroll through the downtown or participate in a 5K Run. Check back here often updates!

THE OPEN DOOR PROJECT

What does an open door mean to you? Does it mean welcome home, open for business, or a new opportunity to pursue?

The Downtown Hazleton Alliance for Progress is proud to have partnered with Hazleton POWER!, the Hazleton Art League, and the Sage Exchange in sponsoring a door mural project that encouraged everyone to express their thoughts on this topic through art. A vintage, reclaimed door was the canvas.

We received 23 entries, which were displayed throughout the downtown on September 12th. Other exhibits are being planned. To view the doors online and vote for your favorites, visit our Facebook album.

These races will take place the second Saturday in October. All races will start and finish at the Greater Hazleton Rail Trail. For more information or to view results from the previous year's races, visit: http://townntrail.com
